Our History

The Goshen Volunteer Fire Company, located in Goshen, New Jersey, was officially incorporated on June 29, 1949. The organization was established with the vital mission of protecting life and property from fire-related damage. Our goals include extinguishing fires, acquiring and maintaining firefighting apparatus and ensuring community education on the proper use of these tools, all while adhering to established by-laws.

Our Present

Fast forward to the present day, and the fire company remains an all-volunteer organization comprising 30 to 35 dedicated men and women. We continue to operate from the same modest firehouse at 331 State Highway 47 North in Goshen, a location that has served our community since the inception of our organization in 1949. Today, we respond to a variety of calls for fire, rescue and EMS assistance, while actively engaging with our community.

Our Community

Goshen is situated in Cape May County within Middle Township, which spans 64 square miles. Our district is traversed by State Highway 47, one of the three major routes leading to the bustling Southern Shore areas of New Jersey, making our services particularly important during the busy summer months. The community itself is primarily residential with agricultural roots, complemented by two local boat marinas that contribute to our unique character.
